The Church is Not a Professional Moving Company!

INTRODUCTION

NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WARD
Moving in or out of your residence is not the responsibility of Ward members (unless it is a Priesthood assignment). Please seek out family and friends first. “When this is not sufficient or feasible, the Church stands ready to help.” (Handbook 2:Administering the Church) Each move will be evaluated as a welfare services matter, and only after the bishop has determined that the family or person requesting the move does not have the financial funds, family or personnel to help with the move will the bishop make a request to the elders quorum president to assist.

NEW MOVE-INS

  2. Please give the Ward helpers adequate notice so they can prepare their schedules for your move.
  3. Please be responsible for arranging the transportation of all vehicles involved in the move.
  4. Ward helpers will provide the unloading of the vehicles.
  5. Please be responsible for your own boxes. (You can many times obtain them by contacting grocery stores).
  6. Please indicate on boxes (in large bold lettering) where the box is to be placed (which room) for its new arrival.
  7. Please be responsible for tools needed to assemble furniture / large appliances.
  8. Please be responsible for assembling all large appliances (refrigerator-washer & dryer and freezers).
  9. Please have all contents of refrigerator & freezers empty beforehand.
  10. Pets: They can easily get in the way of working helpers, some helpers may also have allergic reactions to animals.
  11. Young children: Please make arrangements for  little children to be out of the way of the movers until the work is done.
  12. Ward helpers are not responsible for packing boxes.
  13. Please be responsible for tools needed to disassemble furniture / large appliances.
  14. Please have all contents of refrigerator & freezers empty beforehand.

  • Some situations may require additional help with those who are physically limited and cannot do for themselves.

NO MONDAY NIGHTS!

Other interruptions to family home evening should be avoided.” (Handbook 2:Administering the Church)
